We are Still Standing - A Documentary About Women In Black

Testimonials

In the name of the organization Mujer De Futuro that I represent legally, I am endorsing the film work that has been made in Colombia.  Ms. Ellie Bernstein in a space of a month has gathered testimonies of the women in their brave and determined struggle against the war, and in constructing a social movement of peace in Colombia. Ellie Bernstein has desired to show the experiences of the women of Colombia, Israel, and the United States, who participate and belong to the movement of Women in Black. The documentary work of Ellie will help the entire world to understand the voices, feelings and thoughts of women who struggle against violence.

I viewed a sample of the film, “We are Still Standing: The Story of Women in Black” and I believe that the final documentary will be crucially important to an audience not only of men and women of the United States who are concerned about peace, but also internationally. As a global project, the documentary will show how this wide-spread network of women peace activists have reacted to violence, war and abuse towards women at both local and international levels.

I just saw the sample film you made about Women in Black -- it's terrific! I found it accurate, moving, and able to capture so much of the spirit of the international movement.
